I’m delighted to introduce the following video of two Pratt in Venice alumni from our first year, 1984. Sam Altekruse and June Allen are each practicing artists today. They each participated in our 35th year anniversary celebrations by submitting work for the show. June also joined the 2019 program on site in July, 2019. Sam spent much of the lock-down year of Covid in Senegal, but he happened to be in Paris, where June lives, for a period during 2021, and I thought it might be fun to set up a joint interview. Recent alumna Safiye Şentürk (PiV ‘17) conducted the interview, and Vicky Luo (PiV ‘19), also a recent alumna, edited the video.
