Pratt in Venice Printmaking faculty Angela Conant will curate a group exhibition, Boy Box, at EFA Project Space, opening July 30, 2021.
Selected as the 2021 Curatorial Incubator exhibition, Angela Conant will organize Boy Box, on view from July 30–August 28, 2021, featuring work by Jared Buckhiester, Deborah Czeresko, Rose Nestler, Sarada Rauch, Vincent Tiley, Christopher Udemezue, Angela Washko, David Wojnarowicz. By divorcing masculinity from its patriarchal, body-based traditions, the artists in Boy Box propose fluid and forward thinking depictions of masculinity across genders and bodies.
Angela Conant is an artist, curator, and educator in Brooklyn, NY. Her work in sculpture, painting, and video abstracts bodily form and addresses the transformative effect that representation (in art, written language and journalism) has on cultural perception. She studies art made as a means of survival.
